Demolition
Whether you're clearing the way for new construction or removing an old structure that's run its course, Great Plains Groundworks has the equipment and expertise to get it done safely and efficiently. From residential teardowns to commercial demolition projects, we handle every job with precision and care, making sure your site is clean and ready for whatever comes next

Our Process
Every demolition project starts well before the first swing — we review site plans, identify structural elements, and locate all utilities to ensure they are properly disconnected or marked before work begins. Structures are assessed for hazardous materials such as asbestos or lead that must be addressed by a certified abatement contractor prior to demolition. Once the site is cleared and safe, we work methodically from the top down, using excavators, skid steers, or hand demolition depending on the size of the structure and what surrounds it. Careful attention is paid to neighboring structures, existing utilities, and anything on the property being preserved.
Material management runs alongside the demolition itself. Concrete, block, and masonry are broken down and either hauled off or crushed and repurposed as fill material on site where applicable. Steel and metal are separated for recycling, and remaining debris is loaded and removed to keep the site clean as work progresses rather than letting material pile up. Once the structure is down, the foundation and slab are removed to the specified depth, the area is backfilled and graded, and the site is left in a condition ready for whatever comes next — whether that's new construction, landscaping, or a clean slate.
